Sweden Rocks

The Swedes stopped punishing the prostitutes - and instead criminalised the men who buy sex.
Time to look seriously at the pioneering stance of Sweden in criminalising the client and not the one who sells, and time to break some of the myths which surround Prostitution and the clients who purchase pay-as-you-go sex as part of their modern consumer rights.

"Female Chauvinist Pigs"

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2006/jun/21/gender.politicsphilosophyandsociety

Lap dancers, porn stars, big-lipped, zeppelin-breasted exhibitionists - meet the new role models for young British women. Sauna Conversations

London can still get chilly some days and the best thing to do is to go to a sauna. I love the feeling afterwards, you feel lighter, happier and warmer...till one day ;/ It was after work hour and quite busy in the swimming pool. But I don't mind as long as people respect each others space. I had a good swim and then went to steam room. Then had a break, went in to sauna room. There were 5 gentlemen, all were at the entrance. I passed by and sat at the back. They were in a conversation about immigration, politics. At the same time they were showing each other women who were passing by...they were not young, they were in their 50's I suppose and they all had a big belly. They were judging women's body and they made a comment saying the country should be open to only beautiful, good looking women...and they were laughing disgustingly. Afterwards I wasn't probably friendly. Because it makes them uncomfortable to know that the woman/child is grumbling, the oppressed one must also appear to like their oppression...so much is the male reality accepted by both male and female as reality...smiling and simpering...we should get rid of that phony smile whenever men says such things...

Talking about your sex life / 4 Apr 2008

In the week that Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg revealed that he had slept with “no more than 30” women – we ask whether a woman could get away with making that admission. Does the sexual double standard still apply when talking about previous relationships? Or, is there something to be said for a bit more discretion from both sexes? Jane talks to former Conservative MP Edwina Currie and Kaye Wellings, Professor of Sexual and Reproductive Health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

Myths...?!

" I want to be a lap dancer, like Daddy likes, when I grow up "
Bethny (Age 6)
25% of teenagers 'aspire to be glamour models', according to one survey
" Big Brother ..Women's Mags, Newspapers .. Teen Mags .. they tell women and girls that this is what they should aspire to ..
" We live in a society where 1 in 3 women experience male violence .. 1 in 4 women are raped .. 1 in 4 women are beaten black and blue by their husbands..
.. Accusing me of hatred .. when that is exactly what this culture spreads "..." This is a really good example of the 'name calling' tactic ....
